This competition is part of the annual Lubbock Arts Festival, April 13-14, 2024, and is open to all artists working in any fine art media. The Lubbock Arts Festival is a project of the Lubbock Arts Alliance, Inc.
ELIGIBILITY
- Open to all artists in all media.
- Entries must be original in design and execution.
- Entries must have been completed in the last two years.
- Works completed in a workshop or under supervision are ineligible.
ENTRY FEES
- $30 per entry.
- Each artist may have no more than three works represented in the show, but the number of entries is limited to ten.
- Entry fees are non-refundable.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
- All accepted works must be hand delivered ready to hang securely with wire (no sawtooth hangers) for display. We will not be accepting shipped artworks. Artwork cannot exceed 35 pounds.
- Framed size limit 44″ w x 72″ h
- All accepted works will remain on display for the duration of the 46thAnnual Lubbock Arts Festival.
- Juried Gallery will be in the 1/3 Banquet Room of the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center.
- Artists must obtain a Texas Sales Tax number to apply to the Juried Exhibit. Artist is responsible for remitting all state and local sales tax and reports.

SALES
All artwork must be for sale at the price determined at submission and include sales tax. Lubbock Arts Alliance will retain 33 1/3% commission on all Gallery sales.
REPRODUCTION
The Lubbock Arts Alliance retains the right to reproduce work for publicity purposes. Submission of an entry to this exhibition shall indicate an agreement on the part of the artist to these conditions.

JUROR: Brice McCasland
Brice McCasland is a visual artist and educator working out of McKinney, Texas. Brice earned his Bachelor of Science in K-12 art education with an emphasis in printmaking from Western Colorado University in Gunnison, CO. Brice has spent the last 17 years building the visual art program at Lovejoy ISD, where he is honored to serve as the K-12 Visual Art Coordinator, AP Studio Art Lead, and Gallery Manager. As a founder of LJVA, he has had the opportunity to help create a K-12 studio experience that is focused on practice, process, Inquiry, and personal voice as a platform for student growth.
During his time teaching AP Studio Art at Lovejoy, Brice’s students have consistently been featured as exemplary for the College Board’s AP Studio Art Portfolio; on the AP Student poster in 2014, the AP Studio Art Exhibition 2015 – 2021, featured in the 2019 AP Studio Art Training Manual, as a selected pilot school for the 2019 AP Studio Art Portfolio revision, and as featured AP Studio Art Portfolio examples on the AP website in 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2019. Recently Brice has helped build resource material for College Board through supplemental videos for the AP Daily program to help students engage with the incredible experience of building an AP Studio Art portfolio, has served as a reader for AP Studio Art and Design from 2021-2022, and has served as Co-Chair of the College Board’s AP Art and Design Development Committee for 2021-2023.
Brice’s belief in visual arts’ irreplaceable ability to narrate and navigate this life carries over to his professional career as a mixed media artist, showing his work in art festivals around the country. He was selected as the Featured Artist for the Des Moines and Cottonwood Art Festivals. He has served on the jury for both the DMAF and the Cherry Creek Art Festival where he currently serves on the artist advisory committee.
Brice is a native of Lubbock, Texas.
