ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE
In “The Bizzee Bee,” children step into the role of busy bumblebees, exploring a vibrant, larger-than-life Texas Prairie filled with handmade flowers — towering 3- to 5-foot replicas of native blooms such as mealy blue sage, Indian blanket, and lemon bee balm. Dressed in Velcro bee costumes and wearing special goggles that simulate a bee’s UV vision, participants embark on a timed, interactive mission: to gather scented, colorful wool “pollen” balls from the flowers and return them to their hive to keep it thriving.
This unique hands-on experience is free with general admission to the Lubbock Arts Festival.
Thanks to the generosity of the Helen Jones Foundation, Inc., this buzz-worthy adventure is possible for all to enjoy.
