Maisie Marie Alford’s artwork explores personal identity and consumer culture, drawing inspiration from everyday objects, product packaging, and found memorabilia. Through paintings and found object collages, she transforms the ordinary into meaningful narratives, uncovering beauty in the overlooked and familiar.
Based in Lubbock, Texas, Maisie received her BFA from Texas Tech University in 2011. She has exhibited in over 40 solo, invitational, and juried exhibitions, including Miami Art Week, Artspace 111 (Ft. Worth), Marfa Open, Arlington Museum of Art, Design on a Dime NYC, and the Contemporary Art Museum Plainview. She has participated in residencies at the Kienholz Schoolhouse (Idaho) and Sunnyside Residency (NYC).
Beyond her artistic practice, Maisie has curated exhibitions such as 44 Artists from Texas, Bruce Lee Webb: UFOs are Real, and Hills Snyder: Altered States (Part Two). With over 15 years of experience in the arts, she is currently the Executive Assistant and Arts Education Coordinator for the Lubbock Arts Alliance and owns Art Handlers, an installation business. More of her work can be found at maisiemariealford.com.
Sponsored by Studio West, Maisie’s work invites viewers to reflect on identity, consumerism, and the everyday world. Viewing is included as part of general admission.
