Sangita Bhutada is an educationist and accomplished artist dedicated to advancing child education and preserving traditional Indian art. Since beginning her artistic journey in 1997, she has gained recognition for her mastery of Rangoli and Henna art.
Rangoli, a traditional Indian folk art, is created during festivals and auspicious occasions using vibrant colors, flowers, and intricate patterns. This sacred tradition, passed down through generations, reflects cultural heritage through geometric shapes, floral motifs, and depictions of deities.
Sangita’s career took off at a Rangoli camp in India, where she taught 500 students over a month. Her achievements include a feature in the Limca Book of World Records (2004/2005) for a 70-foot Rangoli completed in 14 hours. She later created a 100-foot Rangoli in 24 hours, showcasing her dedication and artistry.
Her creative portfolio includes 15 books on Rangoli and Henna art. Her work has been featured at the Houston Museum of Natural Science, George Brown Convention Center, and Toyota USA, where she designed a digital Rangoli brought to life through projection mapping.
Sponsored by Prosperity Bank, Sangita’s art is a vibrant expression of Indian heritage, inspiring audiences and preserving tradition for future generations. Viewing is included with general admission.
